The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord Bo Tien (武天菩萨). The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affiliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. Needless to say that all the saints we know are in this temple. Ji Gong Posat too is no exception. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven. We worship God and saints, not man however good that man may be. There should be no hero worshiping or idolizing of man whether he is a charismatic pastor, priest, monk, medium or lay leader. We don't even idol worship the image of any saint but reflect on what the image stands for. - the doctrine in the image. Omitofo 阿弥陀佛!.

Why those who know more stay away from a temple

No 423 of Living Life Series 1




The thoughts of a man determines his actions and his personality. If such a man is deep into Tao and yet not really arrived at Tao, he is neither here nor there. 

He cannot fit into the people at the temple he used to go because many of the people there may be many notches down in spiritual cultivation. 

The people at the temple who determine the show at the temple may not even know Tao, let alone practise and cultivate Tao. They are as raw and wild as can be and not yet sculptured into any shape and form. They are like pieces of wood with torns and dirt. 

The yin yang energy in them are not refined and not balanced. They are in flux and wildly at flux. They are far from being at peace though they may be project or task orientated for reason far from spiritual. 

Now if there is a man in their midst who is more cultivated and far ahead spiritually but yet to arrive at perfection of Tao, his yin and yang energy are more in synergy though not perfectly so. He will be ruffled by the rest and will be pulled backwards in cultivation. His pool of yin yang energy will be polluted and stirred by currents of yin yang storms from the rest. 

Such a man will try to reconcile and remedy the situation by influencing the rest. But try as he might, because he is outnumbered and out-maneuvered by sheer numbers, and because he has not fully arrived at perfect Tao, he may still be overpowered by the yin yang storms from the rest in the temple. 


Yin yang storms of men of a temple 
may seem trifle like stroms in a tea cup
but they can ruffle the wayfarer
Better to stay clear than to be caught
in the grips and throes of the storms.

We have our own to contend 
with and to stay atop

What more can he do except to stay away and cultivate more on his own by choosing a more apt and congenial environment. This would explain why those who know more stay away from the crowd at a temple. He would rather be misunderstood. He has not fully arrived in Tao and still has some pride.

Even Lao Tse in his life as man had to leave the crowd of civilisation to go away to the wilderness where he can better practise Tao. He never fear of being misunderstood for deserting the crowd.

The other world through Philip said, "Many a pride cover those who achieve the light of enlightenment. But the wise are those who never fear of being misunderstood."

He who knows more would rather endure what others say and stay away and be in more isolated and congenial yin yang environment where it would be less onerous for him to cultivate Tao. 

As what the other world said through late Philip, "Endurance is one's innocent glory in the next world."  That way by staying away and endure what others say and gossip, he is better able to cultivate more Tao and be glorious in the next world. 

Those who know more will stay away from a temple. People should not feel upset that they have to do so. Others should not chastise them. 



Lord Bo Tien

Lord Bo Tien has this to add. "Blame not the flower for insects coming to it for nectar. This is no fault of the flower." 




It is only natural for those who are more lost in yin yang storms to ask for worldly blessings but hopefully one day they will be more insightful and go for beyond nectar of worldly blessings - which will be the tou-li or Tao to save souls and which will release them from rebirths through balance and mastery of yin and yang. 

Then the nectar of worldly blessings is not the end-all but the stepping stone to untie men from knots of life of yin and yang so that they may be more akin to think on life and Tao. They will acquire insight on how to be atop yin and yang rather than be tied in knots by yin and yang - the opposing contingencies if life like gain-loss, honor dishonor etc. 

Not all are ready for the Way or Tao. If from the beginning, a temple is meant for those who are ready for Tao, then there will be no need for a temple; for then there will be not enough people to even think about starting a temple. 

A temple or mission however exists to save the people through Tao - tou-li. But most people without exception only come for worldly blessings and are not primed for Tao.

Perhaps that is why if he can help it, Ji Gong is not keen to be a resident saint of a temple but to roam the universe to touch the lives of beings that come his way and who have affinity with him. Even then more come to him for worldly blessings than for Tao. That is natural but men must go beyond this and this is the wish of God and all saints. 


Ji Gong has his sight set on the whole wide world.
He does what he can and he do his part as Bodhisattva / saint
